OLRtv Broadcast Crew

OLRtvThis page is dedicated to the people behind the scenes of OLRtv, that you may hear, but cannot see. We have all spent thousands of man hours contributing to OLRtv, and we do so for the love of the sport of Sim Racing and the OLR community. Check out some of these hard working individuals, and send them some fan mail!

Matt "Racinkid" Thomas - Auburn, NY

Executive Producer/Director

Matt Thomas grew up at the CNY DIRT tracks and has always had a love for auto racing. If he can't race for real, he might as well do it Sim style, and make the most of it. Back in 2001, OLR Racin Radio hit the air with Deryl Morley and a cast of characters now missing from the Sim community. Soon after it started, Matt stepped in to help the OLR Racin Radio crew, and later took the lead in covering even more events hosted on OLR. Matt was often heard on Friday nights trying to offer Scott Fairman a nerve pill, while stealing some of his peanuts during the SS Series broadcasts. The shutdown of www.fancast.com left OLR Racin Radio off the air in late 2002, and Racinkid began pursuing the dream of covering Sim Racing events LIVE with audio and video. In mid 2003, the dream finally became a reality, when OLRtv hit the airwaves after much trial and error. Matt was now stuck behind the scenes pushing the buttons on 5 separate PC's during every OLRtv broadcast while trying to play traffic cop with his assembled crew. He does manage to get on the air a few times a month, but most of his announcing days are over. Look for Matt's custom camera work whenever OLRtv is on the air, and just picture him controlling 5 PC's at one time while watching the race, running commercials, typing up graphics and adding sound f/x and so on...

Deryl "The Rage" Morley - Milford, NH

Host/Color Commentator

Founder of OLR Racin Radio and the Weekly Wrap-up Report, and creator of the Road Rage. Live free or die is his motto, need we say more. Known worldwide as "The Voice Of Sim Racing, Deryl's accomplishments have mirrored the progress of sim racing broadcasting. Being the first to do anything is something special, when you can watch it grow into something big, it makes it all that much more special. Deryl has watched his little project at Onlineracin.com turn into a worldwide media phenomenon. Many people credit Morley for the current state of sim broadcasting. He works with OLRtv, RLMtv, and High Speed Radio. You can learn more by clicking your way to www.DerylMorley.com.  Deryl is also the announcer and track manager for Londonderry Raceway and he has joined John Spence in the announcing booth at Lee USA Speedway in beautiful New Hampshire.

Tony "Tex" Stevens - Concord, NC

Host/Color Commentator

Tony began his career as a race fan the day he was born -- June 19, the same day NASCAR ran the first "strictly stock" (Nextel Cup) race in 1949. He began his career as a team member in 2000 at the Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, PA. From there, he has worked on cars in the ASA Racing Series, NASCAR Dash Series, NASCAR All-Pro Series, USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series, ARCA Re/MAX Series, and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Tony was one of the original members of OLR Racin' Radio with Deryl Morley and Matt Thomas and transferred to the TV side as a color commentator and pit reporter. His first-hand knowledge of racecar dynamics sheds a different light on every broadcast he's a part of. Tony moved to Concord, NC, in 2006 after graduating from California University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Communications to further pursue his motorsports dream and is currently employed by Carolina Racing Supply during the week. On weekends, he contracts his services to various late model and Hooters ProCup teams around the Charlotte area.

Michael Richey - Merry Oaks, KY

Host/Color Commentator

Michael joined up with OLRtv in 2007 after some outstanding tryouts on High Speed Radio. He covered most of the DMP/GN series events in 2007 while also catching a few special events to showcase his down home southern style of broadcasting. Michael has been around Sim Racing for many years and runs his own league under the SKFSA banner. Watch for Michael to host more shows in 2008 and you can also catch him on High Speed Radio when not on OLRtv.

Josh Friedrichs - Minneapolis, MN

Color Commentator/Pit Reporter

Our newest broadcaster came to OLRtv this past year to help cover the weekly broadcasts of the DMP Pro and Sportsman Series. Josh, like many, started his young broadcasting career on pit road, and soon ventured up to the booth to call a few races. Josh has really stepped up his knowledge of broadcasting and has a vast background in sim racing with Arca Sim Racing '08 and rFactor. Watch for Josh to be back in the booth during an upcoming show.

Tim Terry - Canada

Host/Color Commentator

Tim comes to us from the now defunct Sim Racing Network where he honed his skills in Sim Race Broadcasting for many years. Tim is now the Series Announcer of the CARQUEST Maritime Pro Stock Tour and the Track Announcer at Scotia Speedworld in Enfield, Nova Scotia, CAN. We brought in Tim last year to add even more experience to our merry ban of broadcasters here at OLRtv. Much like riding a bike, Tim was able to hop right in without missing a beat and looks to become a major addition to our broadcast crew in 2009. You can check out Tim at  www.timterryonline.com.

Jonathan Sanford - Houston, TX

Host/Color Commentator

Jonathan came on board in 2005 to help us broadcast the DMP Cup series and did a fantastic job right out of the gate. With experience from broadcasting at PRN for Nextel Cup events and local football games, he showed that he belonged at OLRtv. Jonathan moved a few years back from North Carolina to Texas to continue his full-time passion in religion by being a minister at a local community outside Houston, TX. Jonathan remains busy with his full-time passion, but does frequent the airwaves of OLRtv when he is not Sim Racing or preaching.
